Claudius Smith's Den Short loop is found on Munsee Lenape Land. The base of Claudius Smith's Rock has caves that were used as a hideout by thieves during the Revolutionary War led by Claudius Smith, for whom the trail is named. This has nothing to do with hiking, just a fun fact!
