Modernizing Lunch
Love a good PB&J, but wish you could elevate your next picnic on the peak? Meet us at Hikerkind HQ in Bushwick to learn three modern lunchbox recipes with our friends Package Free and Bowery Farming. Holistic Health Coach Sam Blaz will transform Bowery Farming salad kits and inspire us to think outside the (lunch) box, while Package Free will provide sustainable beeswax kits to keep your future hike lunches environmentally friendly. By 9:00 pm, you’ll have a nutritious, green lunch for Saturday’s Shirley Chisolm State Park Hike and the perfect vessel to plant your microgreens in.

This month our spotlight organization is the Lenape Center, who are continuing Lenapehoking through the arts, culture and community. Their current exhibition, Nora Thompson Dean: Lenape Teacher and Herbalist, is on view at The Morgan Library & Museum through September 17. You have the option to donate to the Lenape Center when registering to attend this event.
