How To
Prepare For Hike Club

Allison takes you from confirmation email to trailhead ready. Even if you’re not hiking with us this season, you can use these tips to plan your next hike!

How to be safe on trail?

So you’ve signed up to hike with us this season. This is what you need to do to prepare. In the confirmation email that you’ve received we’ve included a schedule with your hike! Save this as a photo in your phone and favorite it so you can refer to it at any time.

Also in the confirmation email is a link to the AllTrails map for your hike. Make sure to download the AllTrails app to your phone and save the offline map.

On the itinerary we’ve mapped out which train you need to take to arrive on time. But if you’re like me you probably want to check this on the day. Depending on which hike you are on you’ll need to download the Metro-North Rail Train Time app or the NJ Transit app. On these apps you check train times follow the journey to make sure you are getting off at the right stop.

Finally get your gear ready. At the bottom of the schedule which you’ve already saved to your phone we have included the 10 essentials as well as what we make sure to have on trail. As always, bring what’s best for you. Any questions reach out to hikeclub@hikerkind.com
