WOMEN’S OUTDOOR BRAND HIKERKIND LAUNCHES S/S '24 AND INTRODUCES TRAIL, PERFORMANCE AND VENTURE COLLECTIONS
New York, New York - May 7, 2024: Hikerkind, the New York-based women’s outdoor brand and hiking community, today announces the release of their Spring Summer 2024 collection. Building on Hikerkind’s foundational offering, the S/S ‘24 release introduces new styles and colors to further equip women to explore the outdoors in all types of terrain. The new collection includes updates to current best-sellers with the Trail collection pieces designed for single or multi-day wear: Trail Sun Shirt 02, Trail Trousers 02 and Trail Shorts 02. It also introduces the Performance and Venture collections including Performance Base Top 01, Performance Base Shorts 01, Performance Legging 01, Venture Camp Shirt 01, and Venture Skort 01.
S/S '24 is the second full collection release from Hikerkind, and is another step closer to realizing the brand’s vision of empowering women with everything they need to experience the outdoors and feel confident on trail. “Introducing new components to our system of dressing is an exciting evolution to Hikerkind's offering,” says Hikerkind co-founder Allison Levy of the launch. “We always knew we wanted to build Hikerkind to encompass every aspect of a hiker’s needs on and off the trail, and there are so many new categories we’re planning to launch this year!”
Everything is now available to purchase on hikerkind.com.
The Inspiration Behind the Launch
Hikerkind’s S/S '24 collection is heavily inspired by all the women they’ve met on trail. “We saw so many women coming to our Hike Club wearing their yoga leggings,” says Levy. “We knew we wanted to make something they could wear on trail that offered the same comfort and silhouette, but was designed specifically for rugged terrain—this inspired the Performance collection.”
Hikerkind’s color palette is directly inspired by colors found in nature. Building on the release of the best-selling Midlayer 01 in Orfelia last fall, this season’s collection expands their blue color story with Thistle and Bielzia. Hikerkind referenced flora, fauna, mountains, rocks, dirt, sky, and the overall feeling of being on the trail to select a series of striking colors that are at home in both nature and their customer’s wardrobe.
The SS24 Collection
The collection’s ten on-trail and off-trail staples deliver on Hikerkind’s brand mission to create premium women’s hiking apparel that performs exceptionally well and reflects the wearer’s style and sensibilities, all while considering the task at hand and making them feel confident and equipped for the trail.
All of the clothing is made using sustainable materials and practices wherever possible. Hikerkind aims to create the least amount of waste by designing gear intended to last.
Hikerkind Hike Club
Beyond offering hiking gear, Hikerkind also fosters an in-person community to unite women in a shared passion for the outdoors and to empower each other to explore their local trails. This season, Hikerkind is expanding their Hike Club community to introduce new chapters in Portland, OR, Denver, CO, and Austin, TX. This brings the total chapters to five, including returning chapters in New York and Southern California. With a full calendar of events from May through October, Hikerkind Hike Club is a reliable program of hikes and educational content that supports initiatives championing diversity, inclusivity and environmental stewardship. “We have seen the joy that Hikerkind’s Hike Club brings to people in New York and Southern California and we knew more cities would benefit from the program,” says Hikerkind co-founder Chelsea Rizzo. “We have already seen such a positive response to the launching of the new chapters with clubs filling up quickly.” adds Rizzo. “All of our efforts with Hikerkind and Hikerkind Hike Club are to break down barriers of entry for women in their exploration of the outdoors, and we are confident that with the expansion, this will be our best season yet.”

About the Brand
Founded by hikers and former fashion stylists Allison Levy and Chelsea Rizzo, Hikerkind is challenging the “hiker” archetype by creating clothing options for women hikers that offer both aesthetics and performance.
Allison and Chelsea started their careers working in the fashion industry and bonded over their mutual love for the outdoors. Allison has been hiking for as long as she can remember all over the world. Chelsea, who was new to hiking until she thru-hiked the Colorado Trail in 2018, was set to hike the Pacific Crest Trail in 2020 before the pandemic hit. During quarantine, Allison approached Chelsea to take an idea they had been kicking around since they met to the next level, and in June of 2021, they launched Hikerkind.
Hikerkind is a women’s outdoor brand and hiking community based in Brooklyn, NY. The brand creates outdoor apparel and accessories, for women by women, in relevant colors and versatile silhouettes, making it easy for them to get dressed in Hikerkind for trail or in the city.
