How To
Be Safe On Trail

Chelsea goes over some fundamental tips to staying safe on trail.
Here are some additional resources from the U.S. National Park Service, R.E.I. and Melanin Basecamp.

How to be safe on trail?

The first tip is to be prepared. That means checking the weather the night before, packing your bag accordingly, downloading your maps offline, knowing who your local first wilderness responders are and having a backup plan.

The second tip is to tell someone. Tell someone what you are planning on doing and if necessary leave a note in your car.

The third is to be alert and be present.

The last one is to trust your gut.

These suggestions are from a recreational hiker.
