Loved wearing this out camping for a weekend and also around town :-) truly such a versatile piece and made with such high quality fabric!
As soon as I pulled this sweater on, I was in love. I was surprised at just how great it felt on. High quality — the shape and cut is very flattering, and the fabric is surprisingly drapey & light, but still warm. Love the thoughtful details & that I can wear this day to day as well as on the trail. Just a beautiful, versatile article of clothing. I bought all three available colors, and am begging for more to be released!
As a slightly curvy woman, finding *cute*-yet-functional hiking gear is a struggle. So much is designed for people without hips! Without muscle-y arms! Without boobs! NOT this piece. The gentle flare at bottom fits perfectly over wider hips (with elastic to tighten it, if you need to). The arms are roomy in a thoughtful way, which allows for 1. Real-sized arms and 2. Layering without feeling like a packed-in sausage! I'm 5'6", 160 lbs and opted for an L. It fits like a perfectly not-too-oversized sweatshirt. The extra armpit room means it doesn't rub harshly when I wear a backpack. The quilting detail is extremely nice (a soft texture for rugged terrain) and the Lichen color is versatile + reminds me of the inner bits of a perfect ripe avocado. Worth every penny.
This item has been a huge success both on the trail and amongst my friends. The design is so thoughtful at every stitch! There is no other maker out there creating pieces for women like this - I've tried finding them!! My boyfriend doesn't understand why it's so off putting to have logos everywhere on other sporting gear, but Hikerkind doesn't make you make any sacrifices when it comes to function and fashion. After all - being on the trail is where we are most ourselves, so why shouldn't our clothing reflect that too?
I love everything about MIDLAYER_01 -- the color, the style, the fit, the fabric. I'm a 5'1 petite woman and often have a hard time finding layers that are comfortable but I'm happy to share that I've finally found my favorite! The XS fit perfectly to wear a light base layer underneath with more than enough room to still be comfortable. I love this fit and fabric, Power Air, because when layering underneath, the base layer doesn't bunch up against the inside of MIDLAYER_01 with the functional design being on the outer part of the garment. I can't wait to see what Hikerkind releases next!
